There is something unique about a warm summer wedding.

The summer sun beats down, casting a golden glow, and there’s a lightness in the air. It’s the perfect setting for a wedding.

Especially one that’s held in a beautiful rural Essex barn, with all of the couple’s family and friends gathered around them.

You can’t help but feel the love and romance that’s present in the air.  As my style is Documentary photography, I want to capture every moment, every memory, and every emotion that’s experienced throughout the day.

But how do you do this without disrupting the flow of the day or drawing attention away from the couple?   This is where unobtrusive documentary wedding photography comes into play.

It’s all about blending into the background, capturing the moments as they happen, without directing or interrupting the natural flow of the day.

Getting to meet the Guests

As I move around the venue, I focus on capturing the small details that make up the magic of the day. The bride’s dress, the groom’s suit, the flowers, the decorations, and most importantly, the guests.

The people who have come to celebrate this couple’s wedding.  They are the ones who have stories to tell, memories to make and love to give.  They are the ones who will make this wedding unique, beautiful and their own.

My documantary style.

This is where documentary-style photography comes in. It’s all about telling a wedding day story, capturing the emotions and personalities of each guest and how they interact with the couple.

I want to freeze these moments so that when the couple looks back at the images, they’ll be able to feel all those emotions once again.

But how can this be done? Without photographic experience, it is difficult to understand the value of storytelling memories. So let’s give an example.

At that moment, I snap a shot, capturing the magic of their love and the joy that surrounds them.
